It was Hibachi soup - the kind you get at the Japanese steakhouse for an appetizer. I've only had the privilige of eating at those fancy restaurants twice, unfortunately. But both times I have loved the soup they brought out before the meal. It's the kind of thing you want when your sick... Kind of like a comfort food. Plus, I love a good soup.
Well, here's my take on it. It was really good. It wasn't hard to make, either. One thing I wish I would have done differently was let it simmer for a while to soak up the vegetable juices. The lady on the website said she lets it simmer for a few hours sometimes. I should have done that, because I didn't think it was very flavorful. But despite all that... It was good! So that can be a note for people who want to make it: Let it cook for a few hours.
But I will definitely be making this again. My family really liked it, also.
